A key takeaway from my mastermind (it's so simple)

Howdy Reader! My monthly mastermind call didn't disappoint! As advertised, we batted around business growth plans for 2026. Lots of excitement, and lots of back and forth. Most importantly, lots of directions to try. Things were cooking. Then my friend asked me to be honest. I suggested that he pick one. Just like he had suggested to me earlier to pick one thing to focus on. At least for a few months. So, going into 2026, I'll be hitting just one of my side hustles hard. Focusing on one...

Howdy Reader! If you're building something on the side, that's great. You're looking to improve your financial position, and buy back your time. Awesome! While you're doing this, take some time to be thankful for where you are. Where you are in your career. Where you are in your relationships and friendships. Where you live, and the creature comforts you have. Those make your side hustles and creator journeys a laboratory, rather than a lifeline. You may have taken some time this month to...

Howdy Reader! You always remember your first. Your first public post. Your first comment. Your first sale. Your first client. Your first affiliate commission. Your first payout. Everything gets easier after that first. What will be your first this coming year? Howdy Reader! Dan Martell is a regular in my feeds and in my email. He recently talked about Separation Season. It's the end of the year. Twenty twenty-six starts next week. There's one weekend left when you have some time to plan. Use that to separate yourself from the pack and start 2026 running. Howdy Reader! Best to you and your loved ones this holiday season! Let's grow together in 2026! ~ John

Howdy Reader! I've talked off and on about eBay selling. Tonight I wrote a longer piece that shows a peek inside what I'm doing. >>> Here it is The way I've been doing it is mostly set and forget. The sales come in at odd times, so it's always a bit of a pleasant surprise. >>> Here's the article again Let's grow together! ~ John Note: Some links in this email may be affiliate links, and I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Howdy Reader! It's fairly common to hear this: "If you're not inciting people, you're doing it wrong." Controversial opinions, or at least strong ones, are memorable. Being memorable helps you to be heard above the noise. It attracts people of similar mind, and they'll rally with you. It also ruffles the feathers of those who disagree with you. It's better to have controversial opinions about ideas rather than people, though. The times I've gone after a person rather than an idea, it didn't...

Howdy Reader! File this in the for-what-it's-worth department. I have probably too many apps installed on my phone. It got unwieldy at some point, so I put them into folders. I eventually organized them by function, with verbs as the folder names: Bank (PayPal, Credit union, etc.) Connect (social media mainly) Earn (semi-passive income earners) Eat (Chipotle, Mickey D's, etc.) GPT (Get Paid To) Grow (communities, health apps) Invest (brokerages) Listen (Spotify, Shazam) Play (games) Read...

Howdy Reader! With my Obsidian Starter Kit for Content Creators, I promised lifetime updates. This affords me at least three things: 1) I can let current purchasers know when upgrades happen. It's a good time to keep in touch. 2) I can use it as an opportunity to ask for feedback from current purchasers. 3) I have the option to let my community know when another upgrade is going to happen, and that the price will go up to reflect the new information. So yeah, I'm working on some updates....
